Dual Torch GTAW Hermetic Seal Welding Cell

CHALLENGE

The customer asked Weldlogic to come up with a Hermetic Low Heat Input Seal Weld process in the most restricted area possible. The Circumferential weld had a very restricted access to the weld joint and required special gas cups and gas adder to provide the required gas coverage. This high value component, with very heat sensitive electronics in proximity of the seal weld increased the difficulty significantly.

SOLUTION

Weldlogic Engineering was challenged and developed a very customized welding station to enable this good customer to produce the high value component reliably and quickly. A special vertical weld cell with dual torches was developed along with very specialized tooling to compress and align the assembly for welding. The Weldlogic AWS-210 with Arc Distance Control was provided to manage all the special sequencing required and special software to offer a production ready weld cell.
