DUAL ARC/ AWS-400 LATHE

CHALLENGE

Today in the U.S. there is a crippling shortage of skilled welders in the precision manufacturing sector.  Over 450,000 jobs opening in the welding field, go unfilled due to a lack of trained and skilled welders.  Weldlogic Engineering has been tasked by a manufacture to develop a system to significantly increase weld output on critical Stainless Casted Assemblies to eliminate the high welding skill levels & costs required to make these very precise low distortion welds.

SOLUTION

Weldlogic Weld Specialists developed all the welds in the Stainless casted assemblies to validate that the welds could be made automatically and by doubling up the system dual arcs could further reduce costs per unit by a 50% reduction in weld time.

This was accomplished with:

• 2 ea. AWS-400 Ampere Advanced Welding System controllers
• 2 ea. Arc Voltage Controller
• 2 ea. Cold Wire Feeders
• 2 ea. Water cooled Tig torches
• 1 ea. PWL-15-48 Precision Welding Lathe
• 1 each Workstation table with ¾” aluminum tool plate

• Product lifetime weld support and service
