Introduction
Challenge:
Design a High Precision 2 Axis motion control that enables a low-skilled/non-welder operator to produce low heat input welds on a wide variety of shapes.
The system needs to be able to repeat the result with less than 1% variation in both path and welding heat input to enable Hermetic seal welds on Lithium cells.
Solution:
Weldlogic Engineering chose the AWS-210 platform, then designed and built a 2 axis system with A.C. Servo Motors to provide a smooth high accuracy motion controlled system.
They seamlessly integrated our motion controller and AWS-210 controller to offer a single HMI to create and store recipes offering unlimited motion and welding capacity.
They designed quick clamp tooling to enable the parts to accurately presented to the Micro-Tig weld process.
