U.S. Manufacture of High Pressure / High Reliability Tanks has been Manually & Semi- Automatic Plasma welding their tanks for decades.

Retaining Skilled Welders, Reducing Scrap, Increasing Quality, and Increasing Productivity was a challenge with current processes and lack of Automation.

Lots of manual fit up, estimated back purge times, no set weld parameters, and decades of tribal knowledge not documented.

In the U.S. today there is well over 450,000 unfilled welding positions, due to a lack of interest or lack of trade schools.

SOLUTION

Weldlogic Weld Specialist Assessed the issues and challenges they faced every day and came up with the following “System Solution”

• AWS-280 Ampere Plasma Advanced Welding System to control all the weld Parameters to +/- 1% or better

• Cold Wire Feeder, Arc Voltage Control, Oscillator, Rotary, Z axis all A.C. Servo Driven for high performance and repeatability

• Quick Purge System to rapidly purge internal of all Oxygen validated with a Parts Per Million Sensor to ensure highest quality internal gas coverage

• Multiple Joy sticks to enable easy torch positioning and part management into and out of the weld cell

• Dual Spindle Tooling to enable perfect tank centering and rapid change over to accommodate a wide range of tank diameter and lengths
