PLS-72 Sub-Arc Tank Seam Welder

CHALLENGE

A long-time customer needed a cost-effective seam welder to produce full-penetration welds on carbon steel hot water tanks — up to 6 feet in length. The welds had to be precise, repeatable, and full length to ensure long-term integrity. The system also had to integrate with a Lincoln 1000A Sub-Arc power supply and wire feeder.

SOLUTION

Weldlogic’s engineering team selected the PLS-72 Seam Welder as a cost-effective and reliable platform for this application. The system was fully integrated with a Lincoln 1000 amp Sub-Arc power supply and wire feeder, and paired with our PLS Micro-Controller to enable precise start/stop control, speed regulation, and accurate weld positioning. This setup allows the customer to perform full-penetration welds on a wide range of carbon steel hot water tank sizes and diameters — ensuring strength, consistency, and long-term durability. The system is also compatible with flux recovery for cleaner operation and improved efficiency.
