UPS-6 Ultra Precision Seam Weld Cell

Challenge

Develop a seam welder that can clamp up .004″ thick materials and produce edge full penetration seam welds in a range of thicknesses, widths, and alloys

Solution

Weldlogic Engineering selected the AWS-210 Micro-Tig Power Supply and designed a Ultra Precision Seam Weld platform with backup gas, replaceable fingers and mandrels to accommodate a wide range of applications.

Dual pressure controlled clamp fingers allow for perfect seam positioning using run on/off weld tabs. A camera and color monitor assist the operator to offer a 10x view of the seam before and after welding.

Weld speeds needed to be capable of reaching 100+ IPM to enable such fine seam welding.
