Heavy Duty CNC 2-Roll With Quick Change Forming Sleeves

CHALLENGE

A Weldlogic customer needed a heavy-duty 2-roll forming solution capable of producing the roundest possible motor cases from 6mm thick steel — across a wide range of diameters and lengths, running two or more shifts per day with multiple sleeve changes per shift. The forming sleeves required were too heavy for an operator to lift manually.

SOLUTION

To handle the high forming pressures required for thick-wall, large-diameter motor cases, Weldlogic Engineering increased the hydraulic forming capacity, upgraded the load bearings, and reinforced the structural design throughout. A custom quick-change system was then designed, tested, and refined — using a transfer cart, loading slide, and integrated lift — so a single operator can swap heavy forming sleeves safely and efficiently between runs.
